We put 50+ compounds to the test as we developed FLEXX, and determined it wasn’t one compound that maximizes vibration reduction, but a combination of two compounds that react and absorb force better than any other internal wheel-end balancing product on the market.
A soft, dual compound particle formula known as DUAL FORCE was specially designed to work together to react to and absorb forces better than any other wheel-end balancer on the market. IMI FLEXX is designed to outperform the competition by at least 15%.
By eliminating up to 50% more wheel-end vibration than competitors, FLEXX significantly reduces tire-related rolling resistance when compared to no balancing or other balancing methods. As a tire’s tread wears, the result is a surface that is heavier in some areas and lighter in others. FLEXX shifts to the lighter tread areas to offset the uneven weight as the tire rolls. Unlike wheel weights, FLEXX continually adapts to balance a tire and wheel assembly. Tires stay on the road longer, both saving you money in tires and by making the truck more fuel efficient. Tires are at their peak fuel efficiency in the last 20% of wear, so longer wear helps your fleet take advantage of these savings.

As the tire vibrates, energy is created. FLEXX Dual Force technology absorbs this energy and the accompanying vibrations within the tire. This energy absorption happens everywhere on the tire’s circumference where vibration occurs, not just at the footprint. In turn, vibrations are decreased through the complete tire and wheel assembly.

As the tire follows a road’s uneven profile, upward force is created. FLEXX neutralizes this upward force by applying 30 pounds of downward force uniformly at the footprint at highway speeds. At the same time, FLEXX also absorbs this energy and disperses it away from the tire. This flattens the contact patch and leads to even tread wear.
