The 8545 is designed so the operations and the display show face for greater ease of use than competing products.

Simple one press calibration at the base stop and one button change from SAE to Metric readings.

For durability, the electronics are protected by a die cast guard, rigid die cast probe supports and includes a hard shell padded case for storage.

While the 8545 is self calibrating, some state government regulations require shops to have a stand alone fixture to verify calibration.  If needed the optional Ammco 9582 is available to meet the requirement.
